Ski Connect – Instructor Terms

These Instructor Terms (“Instructor Terms”) apply to all individuals who create an Instructor account or offer ski or snowboard instruction through the Ski Connect platform.

By creating an Instructor profile or using the platform to connect with clients, you agree to be bound by these Instructor Terms in addition to the Ski Connect Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Role of Ski Connect

 

Ski Connect provides a digital platform that allows independent instructors to connect with individuals seeking ski or snowboard instruction.

Ski Connect:

  • provides profile listing and communication tools.

  • facilitates introductions between instructors and potential clients.

 

Ski Connect does not provide ski instruction services and is not a party to any agreement between instructors and clients.

All instruction, lessons, bookings, and services are arranged directly between the Instructor and the Client.

2. Independent Contractor Status

 

Instructors using Ski Connect operate as independent service providers.

 

Nothing in these Instructor Terms creates a relationship of:

  • employment,

  • partnership,

  • joint venture, or

  • agency

between Ski Connect and any Instructor.

 

Instructors are solely responsible for determining how their services are delivered and for complying with applicable laws and regulations.

3. Instructor Qualifications

 

Instructors represent and warrant that they:

  • possess the skills, experience, and qualifications necessary to provide ski or snowboard instruction.

  • hold any certifications required by the relevant resort or jurisdiction.

  • will provide accurate and truthful information in their instructor profile.

 

Ski Connect does not independently verify instructor qualifications and relies on information provided by the instructor.

4. Instructor Responsibilities

 

Instructors are solely responsible for:

  • the instruction they provide to clients.

  • determining lesson structure and pricing.

  • managing bookings and scheduling.

  • communicating directly with clients.

  • ensuring lessons are conducted safely and responsibly.

 

Instructors must comply with all applicable:

  • resort rules,

  • local laws,

  • safety regulations.

5. Insurance

 

Instructors are responsible for maintaining any insurance required to provide ski or snowboard instruction.

Where applicable, this may include:

  • public liability insurance.

  • professional indemnity insurance.

  • other insurance required by the resort or jurisdiction.

 

Ski Connect does not provide insurance coverage for instructors.

6. Safety and Risk Management

 

Instructors are responsible for the safety of their clients during instruction.

This includes:

  • assessing terrain and conditions.

  • ensuring clients understand safety instructions.

  • complying with resort safety policies.

 

Ski Connect does not supervise or monitor lessons and accepts no responsibility for safety management during instruction.

7. Instructor Profiles

 

Instructors may create profiles that include:

  • qualifications,

  • experience,

  • teaching style,

  • location,

  • availability.

 

Instructors must ensure that all information provided is accurate and not misleading.

Ski Connect may remove or suspend profiles that contain false or misleading information.

8. Client Relationships

 

Any agreement for instruction is made directly between the Instructor and the Client.

Instructors are responsible for:

  • setting their own terms for lessons.

  • managing cancellations or rescheduling.

  • resolving any disputes with clients.

 

Ski Connect is not responsible for disputes arising from lessons arranged through the platform.

9. Platform Conduct

 

Instructors must use the Ski Connect platform responsibly and must not:

  • provide false or misleading information.

  • misrepresent qualifications.

  • engage in harassment or inappropriate behaviour.

  • use the platform for unlawful purposes.

 

Ski Connect reserves the right to suspend or terminate instructor accounts that breach these rules.

10. Subscription and Profile Visibility

 

Instructors may be required to maintain an active subscription to remain visible on the platform.

If a subscription is paused or cancelled:

  • the Instructor’s profile may be removed from search results.

  • the Instructor may temporarily stop receiving new client enquiries.

 

Existing client relationships remain the responsibility of the Instructor.

11. Limitation of Liability

 

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ski Connect will not be liable for:

  • injuries occurring during instruction.

  • disputes between instructors and clients.

  • loss or damage arising from lessons or related activities.

 

Ski Connect’s liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount paid by the Instructor to Ski Connect in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $100 if no fees were paid.

 

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

12. Indemnity

 

Instructors agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ski Connect from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • the instruction or services they provide.

  • their interactions with clients.

  • any breach of these Instructor Terms.

13. Account Suspension or Removal

 

Ski Connect may suspend or remove an Instructor profile if:

  • these Instructor Terms are breached.

  • complaints are received regarding unsafe or inappropriate conduct.

  • profile information is false or misleading.

14. Changes to These Terms

 

Ski Connect may update these Instructor Terms from time to time.

Where changes are significant, instructors may be required to accept the updated terms before continuing to use the platform.

15. Governing Law

 

These Instructor Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Any disputes relating to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
